The Application of cellulose Ether

---- In Wall Putty

At present, in most cities of our country, the environment-friendly putty with water resistance and scrub resistance has been paid attention to. In the past few years, due to the formaldehyde gas emitted from the putty made of building glue, which damages people's health, the building glue is made by acetal reaction of polyvinyl alcohol and formaldehyde, so this kind of material is gradually eliminated by people. In other words, cellulose is the only material for the development of environmental protection building materials. 

There are two kinds of water-resistant putty: dry powder putty and putty paste. In these two kinds of putty, modified methyl cellulose and hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose are generally selected. The viscosity specification is generally 30000-60000cps. The main function of cellulose in putty is water retention, bond strength and lubricate. Because the putty formula of each manufacturer is different, some are gray calcium, light calcium, white cement, some are gypsum powder, gray calcium, light calcium, etc., so the specification viscosity and infiltration amount of cellulose selected for the two formulas are also different, and the general addition amount is about 2 ‰ - 3 ‰. 

In the construction of wall putty, due to the water absorption of the base surface of the wall (the water absorption of the brick wall is 13%, and the concrete is 3-5%), and the evaporation of the outside world, if the putty loses water too fast, it will lead to cracks or powder removal, so as to weaken the strength of the putty. Therefore, adding cellulose ether will solve this problem. But the quality of filling material, especially the quality of gray calcium is also extremely important. Due to the high viscosity of cellulose, the floating force of putty is enhanced, the sagging phenomenon in construction is avoided, and it is more comfortable and labor-saving after scraping. In the dry powder putty, cellulose ether should be added more appropriately. Its production and use are more convenient. The filling material and additives can be evenly mixed with dry powder.
